Cougar Pantry Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
Superintendent Banner joined a team of student leaders at Custer Elementary School this March for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of their brand-new food pantry.
“This pantry fills those gaps when just a little help can make a big difference,” Principal Kathy Weymiller said. “Kudos to Ms. Paige Williams-Wake for her vision and our students for their enthusiastic participation to fill the shelves.”
Thanks to the thoughtfulness of staff and families during the school's "Soup-Er Bowl" soup drive and their continued donations throughout the year, the Custer team gathered enough food to create a resource pantry for students. The pantry is available to all and includes canned goods, snacks and beverages to support those who may face food insecurity.
“We are so happy to provide this for our families” Principal Kathy Weymiller said. “Custer is an "Everyone is welcome" culture - and part of that is making sure everyone has what they need to learn.”
By leading with their heart, these students, staff and families are embodying the Custer Way!
